Large scale population-based epidemiological studies offer great opportunities for discovering relationships between the microbiome and human health and disease. With increasing sample sizes in human microbiome studies standardized and efficient workflows are necessary – from laboratory protocols and project management to bioinformatics pipelines capable of handling the enormous amounts of data generated.
At Clinical Microbiomics we have experience with analyzing the microbiome of large cohort studies with many thousands of samples. We can assist you throughout the project, from sample logistics, DNA extractions and sequencing to customized data analysis and multi-omics integration. We do not only deliver data, but always include a scientific report with publication-ready figures to facilitate publication of the results. Our aim is to provide a customized yet price-competitive service of market-leading quality that completely fit the needs of your microbiome study.
Your project will be directed by one of our experienced study directors who will oversee your study and follow all steps ensuring that quality is consistently at the highest level. You can always contact the study director for direct insights to the day-to-day processing of your samples.
We offer DNA extraction performed under highly controlled and trackable conditions in our ISO17025 certified laboratory. The DNA sequencing is performed using Illumina-based 16S rDNA amplicon sequencing or shotgun metagenomics at highly competitive prices even for deep sequenced samples.
As a unique service we offer de-novo discovery of microbes based on the samples from your study. This advanced and computational heavy procedure based on the MGS concept allows you to circumvent the limitations of standard reference-based approaches only describing the microbes that have previously been described (e.g. with reference genomes). Thus, we offer to identify new cohort-specific species for describing the full microbial diversity of your samples.
