The Clinical Microbiomics laboratory is an advanced facility optimized for handling a wide variety of sample types for microbiome research, including:
- fecal/stool samples
- saliva samples
- skin samples
- vaginal samples
Staffed by a highly experienced team of laboratory professionals with decades of microbiome research experience between them, the laboratory is also specialised in processing low-biomass samples that are sensitive to contamination, including:
- nasal, sputum, and other respiratory samples
- intestinal, colon and other biopsy samples
- plaque samples
- urine samples
Location
Located in Copenhagen, Denmark, the facility has access to excellent logistics connections across Europe and North America, allowing easy shipment and reception of microbiome samples.
Certification
The laboratory is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited by The Danish Accreditation Fund (DANAK) for laboratory work related to microbiological testing. This accreditation is a validation of the highest quality protocols for microbiome analysis studies, with extensive use of negative controls to detect contamination and mock communities to track methodological bias. The laboratory QA system ensures full trackability of all samples, procedures, and results.
